I continue to be impressed by the performances put on by the students in our village. I have seen multiple concerts, mini plays, and poetry recitings in the few months I have been here. For each of these performances all their lines were memorized. It is refreshing that Moldovans appreciate the arts and sad that this appreciation is rapidly diminishing in the United States.

The last week of school before Christmas break, nearly each class put on some sort of performance for their fellow students and teachers to observe. It was really fun for the students. They had a singing competition where they invited other schools from surrounding villages to participate. I am not sure who won because, while these performances are very nice, they are also usually very long.
